  1. Read Matthew 24:36-44. How would you describe the tone of this passage? Why does Jesus take this approach when speaking of his second coming?
  2. What do we learn from the example of Noah? How does this apply to our understanding of Christ’s return?
  3. Consider the commands in verses 42 and 44 (“stay awake” and “be ready”). What does Jesus mean by these commands? What does it look like to stay awake and be ready? Be ready for what?
  4. Life is precious, valuable, and short. Taking into consideration his teaching in Matthew 24, what would “making the most of our time” look like to Jesus?
