Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion

  1. Read Galatians 3:7-14. Why does Paul appeal to Abraham? How can the “gospel” be preached to Abraham? What is the gospel?
  2. How does having righteousness credited to us change our view of ourselves and our Christian life?
  3. Who is under the curse of the law? Be sure to consider also what Paul implies in verse 13. Why is anyone under the curse of the law?
  4. Why does Paul build his argument with a litany of Old Testament quotes? What does Paul mean by saying the “law is not of faith”?
  5. What is the “blessing of Abraham” Paul mentions in verse 14? How does Christ secure this blessing and how do we receive it?
