Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Hosea 11:1-11. In what was does your experience of family life help you understand God’s relationship with His people? When would Israel have been considered a “child”?
- What is the “call” in verse 1 &2? How did Israel respond to the call? Why?
- According to verse 5, what is God’s plan for Israel now?
- What do the questions in verse 8 mean? Read Deuteronomy 29:23 for some help in identifying Admah and Zeboiim.
- How is divine anger different from most human anger? How can God be both determined to judge and determined to save?
- What does the metaphor of roaring like a lion (v. 10) communicate about God’s plans?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. (ESV)
