- The Gospel Remedy
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Hebrews 3:7-19. Read also Psalm 95. Why does the writer of Hebrews quote Psalm 95? What does he want to communicate?
- What do we learn about the heart in this passage? What is the “heart”? Consider Proverbs 4:23 as well. Specifically, what are the weaknesses of the heart?
- What consequences is the author warning about? For what do we need to watch out? What keeps us from taking these warnings seriously?
- How do we guard against a hardened heart? What role does the community of faith play? How are we doing?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Hebrews 3:12-13 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (ESV)
