Hebrews: The Greatness of Christ
A Better Ministry
- The Whole Point of the Letter
- Serving Shadows
- Our True Tabernacle
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Hebrews 8:1-7. What is the main point the author is seeking to communicate? Why does he use the word “such”?
- Read Exodus 25:1-9. What is the purpose for building the tabernacle? Why is it so important for Moses and the builders to follow the pattern?
- What does the writer mean in verse 5 that the Old Testament priests serve a copy and a shadow?
- What or who is the true tabernacle, mentioned in verse 2? How is Christ’s body the true tabernacle? What support do we find in the gospels?
- The tabernacle was the place to meet with and worship God. If Christ is the true tabernacle, how does this impact our fellowship with and worship of God?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Hebrews 8:6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. (ESV)
