Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Ephesians 4:31-5:2. Paul uses the word “as” three times in these verses. How does Paul use this word and why is it so important?
- In these verses, what does Paul say God has done for us?
- What is forgiveness? Why is forgiveness so hard?
- What is love? Why is sacrifice essential for biblical love?
- Look at the three uses of “as” again. Naturally, they are used for comparisons. But they also can communicate the cause or source. How is God’s forgiveness and love the cause or source for our forgiveness and love? Why is this so important?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (ESV)
